The Village of Lakeview was honored for its achievements throughout the past year during the 2025 American Municipal Power (AMP) Annual Conference.
Lakeview was commended for its participation in AMP’s Mutual Aid Program in recognition of the mutual aid assistance it provided to the Village of Waynesfield.
“Mutual aid is a vital part of our industry, and AMP’s program is an invaluable resource for our Members,” said Michelle L. Palmer, PE, AMP vice president of technical services and compliance.
“I am sincerely grateful to all the member utilities that took part in our response efforts this past year.”
The AMP Annual Conference took place Sept. 22-24 in Columbus. The organization’s premier event featured presentations and panel discussions by industry experts and speakers from AMP partner organizations.
Firehouse BBQ, demo day planned for Saturday afternoon
The Lakeview Fire Department Fireman’s Club hosts a Firehouse BBQ and Demo Day Saturday, Oct. 11, at the fire department, 540 N Main St. Lakeview.
The free family fun day takes place from 1 to 4 p.m., featuring food, games, music, fire trucks, station tours. A fire department meet and greet also is planned, and attendees can check out firefighting equipment.
A car extrication demo is planned for 2:30 p.m. where guests can watch the fire department in action as they perform a live extrication demonstration on a real car.
