Woman lodged for domestic violence, possession of drugs

A fight at a local business resulted in a Beavercreek woman’s arrest Thursday, Oct. 2.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to Casey’s, 1104 S. Main St., at 6:16 p.m. on the report of a domestic fight stemming from dispute over a bicycle. The victim, who had visible injuries, gave a description of the assailant, Kellye C. Gallant, 35, of Beavercreek, who was soon located on foot in 900 block south Detroit Street. 

When stopped and questioned, officers say that Gallant admitted to drinking alcohol and having marijuana in her book bag.

When police arrested Gallant on the charge of domestic violence, a further search of her bag recovered a container filled with what appeared to be psilocybin mushrooms. 

Gallant then received an additional a charge of possession of Schedule I or II drugs, a fifth-degree felony, before being lodged in the Logan County Jail. 

The mushrooms and two containers of an unidentified yellow liquid which were also found in Gallant’s bag were sent the the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for further testing.

Summons issued for criminal damaging 

David W. Moore, 58, of Bellefontaine received a summons for criminal damaging or endangering after he was caught on video “keying” a car in the parking of Bob Evans Restaurant, 2100 S. Main St.

The victim reportedly saw Moore use a small tool or key to leave a long scratch on their car and reported it to police at about 1:48 pm. Thursday.

Police later reviewed security camera footage which clearly shows Moore inside the business, then leaving and vandalizing the victim’s car in the parking lot as well as the make, model and license plate of his vehicle.

Officers located Moore at his home, where he reportedly admitted to the vandalization and was issued a summons on the criminal damaging charge.
