Michael Quinn McAdams, affectionately known as Mike to those who were lucky enough to know him, was born on November 29, 1938, in Bellefontaine, OH. His life was a testament to the words dedicated, loyal, witty, and generous, which perfectly encapsulate his spirit.
After a rich life filled with adventure, laughter, and love, he passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, in his residence in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him.
A proud graduate of Miami University, Mike was an athlete in his youth, excelling in basketball and baseball, and later excelling at golfing and skiing. His professional journey led him to Massachusetts Mutual, where he dedicated his career, retiring in 2004, where he was awarded seven President’s trophies.
But work was not all that defined him. A man of many talents, Michael had an incredible ability to speak French so fluently that he often surprised native speakers. His hobbies were as diverse as his interests, ranging from travel and photography to cooking, reading, and music. His sense of adventure took him from West Liberty, OH, to the Navy in Hawaii, to Washington, DC, and even New Orleans, LA, before spending the last 50+ years in Dallas. He had an insatiable curiosity and a zest for life that was infectious.
Mike’s generous nature and love for people were evident in everything he did. He derived immense pleasure from others enjoying the things that he found important, especially those that reminded him of his beloved wife, Emily. He was survived by his brother Bruce (Ginger) McAdams, and a beloved uncle to Curtis (Phyllis) McAdams, Heather (Brian) McAdams, Kimberly McAdams, and Robert (Susan) McAdams. He was preceded in death by his father, Quinn Curtis McAdams, his mother, Patrice Rupert McAdams, and his wife, Emily McAdams.
Michael McAdams lived a life that was full to the brim with joy, laughter, and love. He was a man who truly understood the value of living life to its fullest. He stated that, when he was younger, if he had scripted his life out, he couldn’t have matched how great his life went. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Please leave your memories of Michael, and upload photos to the memorial page, as we celebrate and remember a life beautifully lived. Let us remember Michael not for his departure, but for the countless moments of joy, laughter, and love that he brought into our lives.
