David Lewis Leininger, 84 of Springfield, OH, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Hearth and Home El Camino Assisted Living facility in Springfield, OH.
David was born July 13, 1941 in Lakeview to the late Everett Wilbur and Florence Marie (Smith) Leininger. On September 16, 1962 in Columbus he married the love of his life, Sue Ellen Maurey, who survives. He is also survived by his son, Andrew (Sarinda) Leininger of North Carolina; daughter, Luanne Leininger of Bellefontaine; two grandsons, Edward (Hannah) Leininger and Eric Leininger both of North Carolina; four great grandchildren, Emmett, Heidi, Eliza and Grace all of North Carolina; sister, Barbara (Joe) Cramer of Russells Point; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
David was a 1959 graduate of Stokes Local High School in Lakeview. He worked at Airstream in Jackson Center before retiring from Rockwell in Kenton after 30 years. He was an avid hunter and was a member of the Indian Lake Fish & Game. David was very sociable, and he never knew a stranger. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Deckling.
A Memorial Service will beWednesday, September 24, at 1 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
