Week 3 football recap: Lakers, Raiders, Pirates, Tigers victorious; Chiefs stumble

Wins were the word Friday night, as Indian Lake, Benjamin Logan, Riverside and West Liberty-Salem all went to work and walked away with big W’s. The Lakers wowed with a 50-point outburst, the Raiders wore down Urbana with wave after wave of rushing yards, the Pirates willed their way past Spencerville, and the Tigers withstood Cedarville’s rally. Only Bellefontaine went without, walled in by Westerville Central.

Indian Lake 50, Allen East 20
Indian Lake delivered its strongest outing of the season, rolling to a 50-20 home win over Allen East. The Lakers (2-1) racked up more than 480 yards of offense with four rushing touchdowns and three through the air. Quarterback Brady Golliday threw for 193 yards and three scores while rushing for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Receiver Brodey Reisinger caught seven passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Noah Shirk added 182 yards on 14 carries with two scores. Allen East (1-2) was led by Miles McDorman, who ran for 187 yards and three touchdowns.

Westerville Central 23, Bellefontaine 6
Bellefontaine’s offense struggled in a 23-6 loss at Westerville Central. The Warhawks (1-2) built a 9-0 halftime lead and extended it to 23-0 before the Chiefs (1-2) broke through late with an 18-play scoring drive capped by a Carter Caudill touchdown run.

West Liberty-Salem 21, Cedarville 15
West Liberty-Salem notched its first win of the season, holding off Cedarville on the road. The Tigers (1-2) scored all of their points in the second quarter behind two touchdown passes from Beckett Sullivan and a short run by Reese Oder. Cedarville (0-3) answered in the second half with a touchdown pass from Will Mossing and a scoring run by Isaiah Christian, but came up short.

Riverside 28, Spencerville 14
Riverside earned its first victory of 2025 with a strong second-half performance at Spencerville. Tied 14-14 at halftime, the Pirates (1-2) controlled possession and scored twice after the break while shutting out the Bearcats. Gunner Carpenter and Tony Robinson each scored two rushing touchdowns.

Benjamin Logan 41, Urbana 24
Benjamin Logan leaned on its ground attack to defeat Urbana on the road. The Raiders (2-1) rushed 59 times for 341 yards, led by Wyatt Predmore’s 145 yards and Jordan Pender’s 86. Diesel Baughman added 84 yards and a touchdown. Urbana (0-3) was unable to keep pace with the run-heavy offense.
