West Liberty man arrested in sheriff-FBI child sex abuse investigation

A West Liberty man was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 27, following a joint investigation by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation into the creation and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Jeremiah J. Monk, 22, was identified as a suspect during the investigation. Detectives executed a search warrant at his residence with assistance from Logan County Children’s Services, seizing multiple electronic devices.

Monk was arrested without incident and lodged in the Logan County Jail.

He faces initial charges of two counts of rape involving a victim under the age of 13 and three counts of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
