Nominations from community sought for next recipient

The Bellefontaine Shade Tree Commission recently honored the winners of its first Neighborhood Beautification Program, Jack, Karen and Lora Beair of 228 N. Park St., presenting them with an engraved garden stone and yard sign.

The Neighborhood Beautification Program recognizes residents who contribute to the beauty of Bellefontaine by taking pride in the landscaping of their yards.

For the inaugural award, the shade tree committee members nominated different residences for the award and the group voted after reviewing pictures of the nominated residences.

For the 2025 Neighborhood Beautification Program, the Bellefontaine Shade Tree Committee is requesting the public make address nominations and submit a photo of the home by Sept. 15, to BeautifyBellefontaine@gmail.com.

Members of the committee will review the nominations, and the properties will be scored based on initial impression, selection and placement of materials, and originality of landscape design.

The Bellefontaine Beautification Award celebrates those who take pride in caring for the place they call home. Showing love for our community through beautification efforts makes a lasting impact, and the committee thanks their neighbors for their dedication and for sharing that beauty with all of Bellefontaine.
