A Troy woman with multiple previous OVI convictions was arrested again early Saturday, Jan. 18, after reportedly driving the wrong way on a one-way street in while under the influence of alcohol.

Calyssa Lackey, 34, was stopped by officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department around 1:45 a.m. in the area of south Main Street and Colton Avenue after her white SUV exited a gas station parking lot, made a wide turn and traveled west on west Auburn Avenue, an eastbound one-way street.

Officers noted signs of impairment, including slurred speech, slow movements and the odor of alcohol upon making contact with Lackey, who initially denied drinking but refused to perform field sobriety tests.

A records check revealed her license was under multiple suspensions due to previous incidents of impaired driving. She was arrested and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where she refused to provide a breath sample.

While in custody, Lackey was reportedly argumentative and disruptive. At the Logan County Jail, she was placed in a restraint chair after hitting her head against a cinder block wall.

Lackey was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, her third OVI offense, and additional marked lanes violations, and for driving under suspension.
