Bellefontaine’s girls took first at the Kings Classic tournament Monday afternoon.

The annual Kings Classic bowling tournament was held Monday at T-P Lanes in Bellefontaine.

The format used was three regular games and six Baker games.

Benjamin Logan’s boys continued their strong season with a first-place finish in the boys division.

The team had conventional game scores of 1,084, 1,022 and 1,056, then rolled six Baker games with a total of 1,223 for an overall total of 4,365.

Jarrett Buckenroth had a 697 series (253-233-211), the second-highest by just one pin and making the all-tournament team.

Landon Stoodt had a 640 (244-172-224), followed by Dylan Stewart 618 (183-220-215), Caleb Knight 614 (202-198-215) and Nate Davis 573 (202-179-192).

GIRLS

The Lady Chieftains took first place in the girls division with 3,980 pins. Graham was second (3,867) and Benjamin Logan (3,623) took third place.

There were 11 varsity and three JV teams in the field. 

Bellefontaine’s JV was seventh (3,299) and Indian Lake (3,102) was 11th.

Bellefontaine had 2,822 in the regular section and 1,158 in Baker games.

Haylee Yelton’s 602 (178-183-241), and Gracie Hood’s 602 (194-170-238) tied for the team’s high series and both made the all-tourney team. Chloe Heminger had a 551 (183-212-156), Nevaeh LaFollette had 546 (171-188-192), and Avery Mullins knocked down 521 (156-187-193).

For Ben Logan, Hunter McColloch had a 571 series (168-201-202) and made the all-tourney team. Aubrey Zedlitz had a 529 (171-155-203), followed by Maddy Hamm at 511 (181-178-152). They averaged 184 in the Baker games.

The JV Lady Chiefs scores included Isabelle Gunnett’s 564 (180-186-198); Addison Prosser’s 500 (191-168-141) and Kyrah Moon’s 496 (206-146-144). Other game scores were 139 and 158 by Shelby Hoffman and 111 by Kinzie Bernard.

Lady Chiefs second at tourney

Bellefontaine traveled to Columbus for a tournament Saturday and finished second out of a big 22-team field.

They had 4,637 pins in total, just 27 behind first place Celina (4,664). There were three regular games and 10 Baker games.

The Chieftains’ regular game totals were 868, 842 and 1,067 for 2,777. The Baker total was 1,860, which included a 254, the highest of the day. 

Gracie Hood had a 672 series (190-203-279) and made the all-tournament team. Haylee Yelton had 575 (158-223-180), Chloe Heminger had 569 (181-163-225), Rylee Anderson had a 190 game and Avery Mullins got a 163 game.

The junior varsity finished first among six teams with 3,370 pins. The team scores were 646, 606 and 741. The Baker total was 1,381. Isabelle Gunnett had a 465 series (159-150-156), Addison Prosser had 455 (169-131-155), and Kyrah Moon rolled 413 (119-120-174). All three made the all-tournament team. Kinzie Bernard added a 156 game.
