Area wrestlers compete at tournaments

Indian Lake’s boys wrestling team took part in a duals tournament hosted by Archbold on Saturday.
They Lakers went 5-0 in their matches, defeating the hosts 34-30 in the championship.
Individuals going unbeaten for the Lakers were Jordan Henderson (120); Bronx Dickson (132); Czar Dickson (157), Tristan Shoffner (190), Owen Pummel and Aaron Rapp (both 215) and Christopher Timms (285).
J.J. Shirk and Brayden Riffle (both 113), Keyshawn Blackwell (126) and Gavin Henry (144) had four wins.
Cash Scott (106), Dawson Stevenson (150) and Taylor Clem (165) all had three wins, and Draden Stevenson (138 picked up two victories on the day.
The Lakers are back in action Friday and Saturday to compete in the Sam Ridder Invitational at Eaton High School.

WL-S girls in tourneys
West Liberty-Salem’s girls wrestlers traveled to Northmont and Mechanicsburg this weekend to participate in tournaments.
At Northmont, Chloe Griffith went 3-1 with three pins to finish second at 110 pounds. Shelby Vincent competed at 125 pounds.
In Mechanicsburg, Griffith had a 4-2 record with four pins and finished in fifth place. Vincent was in action at 125.
The girls will compete at home against Madison Plains on Wednesday, then take part in a tournament at Bellefontaine this weekend.

Raiders do well at tourney
Benjamin Logan traveled to North Union for the Don Wasserbeck Classic Saturday.
Owen Weaks (144), Hayden Hites (165) and Owen Jordan (190) all finished first in their respective weight classes.
Taking second place were Cooper Buck (126), Kyle Kibler (138) and Ethan Carpenter (175). Carter Buck was third at 132, and Charles Neer finished sixth at 120.
Also in action were Bode Clapsaddle (138), Maxwell Troth (150), Cole Somerlot (157) and Levi Achor (215).
The Raiders will host an invitational Saturday with wrestling getting under way at 9 a.m.

WL-S splits at tri-meet
The West Liberty-Salem boys faced Winton Woods and Reynoldsburg in a tri-meet at Reynoldsburg Saturday.
The Tigers defeated Winton Woods 65-16. Getting pins were Wyatt Shoemaker (106), Zaden Shafer (113), Madden Kilgore (120), Lucas Merriman (126), Derek Wall (144), Silas Krabill (165), Sam Bradford (190), and Maverick Reames (215).
Lance Saylor (132) got a tech fall, and Kyler Langhardt (138) and Tim Krabill (175) won by forfeit.
Reynoldsburg edged WL-S 43-35. The Tigers won four matches by forfeit (Kilgore, Merriman, Saylor and Shoemaker). Langhardt won by tech fall at 138 and Silas Krabill got a pin at 165.
WL-S hosts Madison Plains on Wednesday at 6 p.m. This weekend, they will take part in the Thunderbird Invitational at Lima Central Catholic.
