West Liberty-Salem boys lose to River Valley

The West Liberty-Salem boys basketball team lost to River Valley 76-50 on Monday afternoon at Ohio Dominican University in the Battle of the 614 event.
Troy Christison had 11 points and Caleb Hershberger scored nine for the Tigers.
River Valley led 21-9 after one period. A low-scoring second left them ahead 30-16. They outscored the Tigers by 10 in the third. The fourth saw both teams get hot, with 26 points for River Valley and 24 by the Tigers.
West Liberty-Salem (7-3 OHC, 7-6 overall) is scheduled to host Urbana this evening and Mechanicsburg on Friday.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Lakers down Shawnee
Indian Lake earned a 56-47 win over visiting Shawnee in CBC play on Saturday night.
The Lakers jumped ahead by double digits in the first and led 34-16 at the half. They scored 11 in each of the other two periods to maintain the advantage.
Brodey Reisinger had 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers. Cooper Hall scored 10 and made three steals. Madden Lillard and Avery Pequignot each scored six, with Lillard making seven assists. Colin Bendler had seven rebounds.
Indian Lake (5-1 CBC, 6-6 overall) faces London on the road tonight.

Spartans fall to ECA
Calvary Christian lost to Emmanuel Christian Academy 59-49 on Saturday.
Philip Davie had 15 points, and Zeeke Wylie added 14 for the Spartans. Davie also had four rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Wylie had three boards, two steals and three assists.
Christian Rogan scored seven points, with four assists. Daniel Young had five points and four assists and Evan Schmidt chipped in four points and five rebounds.

Riverside downed by Arcanum
Riverside lost 79-72 to Arcanum in nonleague play on Saturday night.
The Trojans led by eight after one and were up 36-31 at the break. They pulled out to a big lead after three quarters. Riverside scored 25 points in the fourth, but came up just short.
Jaxon Woods had 25 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, along with four assists and three blocks. Gavin Orsborne scored 18. Hayden Sanford had 10, with Brody Orsborne (eight) and Blaine Shoe (seven) chipping in as well.
The JV squad lost 75-46. Blaine Shoe had 10 points and David Gross eight. Other scoring: Syler Clark 6, Justin Mazariegos 5, Hayden McCully 5, and Grady Jenkins 5. Jenkins also had seven rebounds.
Arcanum won the freshman game 50-20. Gabe Steineman had nine points and six rebounds. Laithen Snyder got seven points and Aiden Fout had six rebounds.
Riverside (1-7 TRC, 3-11 overall) hosts Northridge tonight.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
WL-S gets pair of league wins
West Liberty-Salem took on Greeneview Monday and got a 45-32 win.
WL-S had double digits in the first two periods, and led 23-11 at the halftime break. They scored 11 in the third and fourth. Greeneview had one point less in the third and matched it in the fourth.
Ava Astorino had 11, Maddie McGill 10 and Addie Wallen nine for West Liberty-Salem.
There was no JV game.
On Saturday, the Lady Tigers got a 44-35 victory over visiting West Jefferson.
The Lady Tigers led 16-10 after the first, and were up 28-19 at the half. They maintained that lead in the second half.
Addi Wallen led with 16 points and Ava Astorino had 12.
The Tigers also won the JV game 30-10. Isla Leichty and Delaney Anne-Sefah had six points each.
West Liberty-Salem (7-3 OHC, 10-4 overall) is at Mechanicsburg on Thursday.

Riverside girls fall
Riverside lost to Troy Christian 55-44 in Threee Rivers Conference play on Saturday.
Troy Christian led 27-13 at the half.
Miah Carman had 12 points, Kenna Johnson 10, and Avery Perk and Aubree Huston scored nine each.
The JV game outscored Troy Christian 11-3 in two quarters. Randy Doyle had three points.
Riverside (1-9 TRC, 4-11 overall) is at Lehman Catholic on Thursday.

Lakers down Graham
Indian Lake defeated Graham 57-51 on Saturday in Central Buckeye Conference action.
Carly Strayer led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Mackenzie Dixon had 16 points and nine rebounds, along with five assists.
Other scoring: Kennedy Schwaderer 6, Rya Pequignot 5, Courtney Altstaetter 5, Alivia Kinney 2. Altstaetter also had 14 rebounds.
The junior varsity won 37-33, with Terra Beltz scoring 12 and Brylee Buyer 10.
Indian Lake (7-1 CBC, 12-5 overall) is back in action Saturday at Northwestern.

Cardinals win over NE
Triad defeated Northeastern 50-22 in OHC action on Saturday.
Mia LeMay racked up 20 points and 17 rebounds. Gracie Martin had 12 points. Bre Parsons had seven points and five rebounds. Abbey Overfield scored seven, got rebounds and made four assists.
Triad (3-10 OHC, 4-13 overall) travels to Fairbanks on Wednesday.

Raiders edged by Northwestern
Benjamin Logan lost 39-35 to visiting Northwestern in CBC play on Saturday.
Lahna Cook had 10 points, Adilynne Gregg got seven and Kaylee Hays had six. Gregg had 10 rebounds, and Kylie Harner grabbed eight.
Each team scored 10 in the first, with Northwestern going ahead 22-6 at the half. Ben Logan had a good third, with a 12-3 edge, but Northwestern rallied back in the final period.
The junior varsity team won 49-27. Molly Siefring led with 12 points, while Lexi Lovett and Madison Shields had eight points apiece.
Ben Logan (0-8 CBC, 1-14 overall) is set to host West Jefferson this evening.

London downs Chieftains
Bellefontaine lost 51-46 to host London in league play Saturday.
Tiffany Boop led with 13 points, and also had five steals. Quin Zedeker had nine points, seven rebounds and five assists. Lila Butler got eight points and five rebounds. Hailee Lamb added six points.
Bellefontaine had the edge in the first half, outscoring the Red Raiders 27-23. But London had a 15-point advantage in the third and fourth to pull out the win.
Bellefontaine (5-2 CBC, 10-6 overall) is at Harvest Prep on Thursday night.
