Bellefontaine Intermediate School fifth-graders perform the song, “California Christmas” from the1960s, during their Christmas concert titled “Holly Jolly Jukebox” in the BHS Auditorium on Monday night, Dec. 16, directed by BIS music teacher Darcy Neeld. The program featured a very animated Santa Claus, played by Gunner Law, and six different jukebox voices: Jomeryon Williams, Bane Liebhart, Austin Bland, Baiden Godwin, Gunnar Stratton, and Jase Lump. There were 28 other speaking parts and a small group of singers who led on the songs. “Holly Jolly Jukebox” is a musical about students helping their teacher get ready for the holiday. They go up into a spooky attic to get decorations and discover a talking jukebox who spins them through several decades of music, 1940s–1990s. As the jukebox is feeling old and used up, the kids teach him that we all have something to share, no matter how old we are. The students lit up the stage and helped their audience feel the Christmas spirit. (BCS PHOTO)
