Calin Headings is the back-to-back Indian Lake Middle School Spelling Bee Champion.

The sixth-grader recently won the ILMS Spelling Bee for the second year in a row. Seventh-grader Grady Zielinksi was the runner-up.

After 15 rounds of intense competition, Calin correctly spelled the word “embroiled” to take the crown.

In total, 20 other students, who were all chosen from Language Arts classes, participated in the bee. Pupils were provided spelling words from the Scripps National Spelling Bee List.

Calin and Grady both advance to the Logan County Spelling Bee in January at the Holland Theatre.
