Former school administrator jailed for sex crime

2067

Former Spencerville City Schools Superintendent Dennis Fuge, 66, was sentenced Monday, Dec. 2, in Bellefontaine Municipal Court on one count of sexual imposition.

Fuge will spend 45 days in the Logan County Jail, and was sentenced to a $400 fine, and two years of probation. As part of his probation, Fuge must follow several conditions, including no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with minors outside his family.

He has also been classified as a Tier I sex offender, requiring him to register his address annually with the state for the next 15 years.

The sentencing follows a plea agreement reached last month. Fuge had been indicted on two counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of attempted sexual battery, all fourth-degree felonies. The charges stemmed from an incident in March involving a Spencerville student at his RV near Indian Lake.

Fuge retired as Spencerville’s superintendent in 2019 and is listed as a substitute teacher. His conviction bars him from unsupervised interactions with minors.
