Margaret C. Beatty

801

Margaret C. Beatty, 90, of DeGraff, went to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Margaret was born February 15, 1934 to the late D. Hall Cory & Estella Kathryn (Pence) Cory.  On December 7, 1952, she married the love of her life, Charles L. Beatty who preceded her in death on December 15, 2021.

Margaret worked tirelessly beside her husband in faith and farming.  Being a devoted wife and mother, she also spent years employed as an operator with the United Telephone Company and later retired from Walmart in Bellefontaine.  In the early years she and Charles devoted themselves to discipleship in a few different area churches, teaching Sunday School and always bringing children home for lunch and afternoons on the farm.

Later in life she became a member of the Gretna Brethren Church and served her Lord well in VBS and church camp activities, Sunday School class, fellowship dinners and helping serve meals at Our Daily Bread.  Reading, doing word searches and watching occasional college basketball games on TV filled a bit of her past time. But nothing brought her greater joy than to be with her family, attend her grandchildren’s activities and watch her great grandchildren play on her knee and at her feet. God is so good.

Survivors include her children: Charles A. (Shela) Beatty, Philip H. Beatty, Thomas D. (Nancy Jo) Beatty, Mary Ann (Mark) Albright; grandchildren Amber (Kevin) Berger, Katie Beatty, Tori (Andrew) Buford, Tony (Crystal) Beatty, Stanley Beatty, Ashley (Adam Castin) Albright, Dylan (Kate) Albright; great grandchildren Jackson Berger, Emily Berger, Harriet Buford, Arlo Beatty and Carlee Beatty; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck; daughter Faith Ann Beatty; daughter-in-law Beverly Beatty and granddaughter Sarah Beatty.

A Memorial Reception will be in the Fellowship Hall at Gretna Brethren Church, 1564 Township Rd 46 S. Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311, Saturday, November 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. A time to honor Margaret with shared memories will begin at 2 p.m.
