Gary Richard Knox

2041

Gary Richard Knox, 57, of Urbana, Ohio, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Born on November 3, 1966, in London, Ohio, Gary was the son of Gary C. and Linda I. (Imel) Knox.

Gary was known for his spirited sense of humor, playful nature, and had a remarkable gift for turning ordinary moments into laughter-filled memories. His generous heart was devoted to serving others. Through his warm-hearted nature he had a way of making strangers feel like lifelong friends.

An avid “motorhead” Gary loved working on vehicles – problem solving, fixing them and restoring them. This approach was also mirrored in how he lived his life: finding solutions, appreciating the process, and taking pleasure in his work. Gary dedicated 36 years at KTH Parts Industries, where he formed close bonds with his colleagues and became an essential part of his work family. His career was just one of the many places where his passion for family flourished.

Outside of work, Gary was a devoted and active member of Faith Tabernacle Church (FTC), where he cherished his church family and actively contributed to the calling of his faith in Jesus Christ.

Gary’s love for life extended into his travels with his beloved wife, Theresa. The couple shared a great joy for exploring new destinations, with their favorite getaways being any beach or mountain area. The outdoors held a special place in Gary’s heart. Above all, Gary’s greatest treasure was his family. He met his soulmate, Theresa, as a teenager, and together they built a beautiful life over nearly 40 years. Their love and partnership were a source of joy and strength for each other, and their time together was his most precious gift.

While raising their sons, Gary was committed to instilling values of wisdom, integrity, and honor. He was a steadfast supporter of his boys, taking great pleasure in their growth and achievements. Most importantly, Gary absolutely adored his grandchildren, whom he lovingly referred to as his “g-babies”: Trinny-True, Peanut, Bug-Bug, Lollipop, and his Little Diamond. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him boundless happiness and he loved every moment with them. Lastly, to know him is to know the great love he held for his “fur babies.”

Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa Elaine (Cordell) Knox; his sons, Gary “Tyler” (Shelby) Knox and Joshua Michael (Katelyn) Knox; his beloved grandchildren, Tristan, Malanie, Olivia, Iyla, and Nevaeh; his father, Gary C. (Eileen) Knox; his brothers, Ace Knox, and Rodney “Rod” (Victor) Knox; his sister, Lynette “Jo” (Patrick) Harsh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Linda (Imel) Knox; brother, Bob Knox; In-laws, Granville Cordell, Pauline (Davis) Cordell, Rodger Cordell, Rodney Cordell, Carolyn (Cordell) Kenfield, and a beloved niece Erica Lynn Cordell.

Gary’s memory will live on through his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. His warmth, humor, and love will never be forgotten.
