First responders honored

In remembrance of the events of 9/11, the Benjamin Logan community dedicated the month of September to honoring the heroism of its first responders. Friday evening, Sept. 20, local first responder units —  including fire departments, EMS and law enforcement agencies — were recognized at the home football game. The event featured the Presentation of Colors by the Harold Kerr American Legion Post #173 Color Guard, with the American flag being raised members by Blue Jacket Post 599 of Zanesfield. A performance of the National Anthem by the Benjamin Logan marching band and a special rendition of “God Bless the USA” by Paxton Henry followed. This event was a powerful expression of unity, appreciation and remembrance for those who have served and continue to serve. (Caroline Palmer PHOTO)
