The suspect involved in the Aug. 14 day-long armed standoff with law enforcement has been indicted on more than three dozen charges.
Holley Tolliver, 57, of Lakeview, was indicted Tuesday, Sept. 10, by a Logan County Grand Jury on multiple felony offenses as a result of the incident at his home on Big Bear Path on the north side of Indian Lake.
Tolliver faces 16 counts each of first- and second-degree felony attempted aggravated murder and felonious assault for allegedly firing at numerous law enforcement officers during the standoff.
Officers from the special response teams with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Bellefontaine and Marysville police departments and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were met with gunfire while trying to approach the defendant’s residence and take him into custody. No officer-related injuries were reported during the hours long confrontation.
The incident began when deputies responded to a report from a neighbor who told dispatchers Tolliver had fired twice at their home.
Tolliver refused commands to exit his residence and eventually law enforcement approached his residence, at which time Tolliver allegedly fired numerous rounds from his residence towards the surrounding neighborhood.
The shots forced the evacuation of multiple neighbors for their safety. During the standoff, several homes were hit by gunfire. Tolliver was also indicted on five counts of discharging firearms into a habitation.
He faces one count each of burglary and theft of firearms, accused of stealing dozens of guns from a neighbor’s home before the shooting began. The stolen firearms were later recovered from Tolliver’s residence following his arrest.
Tolliver was treated for gunshot wounds to his arm at Miami Valley Hospital before being transported to the Logan County Jail. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is still investigating.
