Robert E. “Rob” King, 72, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday evening, August 17, 2024, at his home.

Rob was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on January 31, 1952, to the late Arthur L. and Alice W. (Barnes) King.   He was also preceded in death by a nephew Jason King.

Rob married Daisy E. Patrick on September 19, 1971, at Zanesfield Community Chapel by Rev. Guy Furby, and she survives in Huntsville.  He is also survived by a son Shannon (fiancé Lisa Perdue) King of Urbana; 2 grandchildren: Savannah Perdue and Alexis Dobie; 3 great-grandchildren:  Liam Rheames, Alivia Rheames, and Paislee Dobie; 3 brothers:  David L. (Diana) King of Eaton, Michael (Betty) King of South Carolina, and Ralph (Robin) King of Eaton; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Lilly King.

A 1970 graduate of Logan Hills High School, Rob worked on cars most of his life.  He was the former owner / operator of Westside Bodyshop in Bellefontaine, he helped his Dad in the Goodyear store in downtown Bellefontaine, and over the years worked in several area body shops.  Rob loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and traveled the United States riding with Daisy and Shannon.  A simple man by nature, Rob also enjoyed deer hunting, cutting wood, and mushroom hunting.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be Saturday, September 7, from 1 to 5pm at his house, 2260 St. Rt. 274 West, Huntsville, Ohio.
