Riverside’s Woods finishes in top five at Urbana Invite
Riverside’s Jaxon Woods shot an 80 to finish in the top five of the individual standings at the Urbana Invitational on Monday, Aug. 5, at Urbana Country Club.
Woods and Hayden McCully were the only two golfers that participated for the Pirates. McCully shot 92 to finish in the top 20.
The Pirates will play in the Dan Kendig Memorial on Wednesday at Echo Hills.
Lady Tigers take 2nd at Champaign Co. tourney
West Liberty-Salem’s girls golf team finished second in the Champaign County Tournament Friday on Friday at Lakeland Golf Course.
Graham won the tournament with a 326. The Tigers had 484, Triad shot 491 for third and Mechanicsburg was fourth with 584.
Olivia Reichardt led the Tigers with a 107. Geneva Estep shot 120, Kennedy Wallace had 126, Ashly Pope shot 131, Marley Myers had 138 and Bexley Wilcoxon shot 141.
Graham’s Zoey Merritt fired a 67 to take medalist honors.
Tigers finish 4th at CC tourney
West Liberty-Salem’s boys golf team was fourth in the Champaign County tournament on Friday at Lakeland.
Mechanicsburg won the tourney with a 302. Urbana was second with 374, Triad was
third with 409 and the Tigers had 419.
Greyson Horsley and Sutton Wilcoxon each shot 100 to lead the Tigers. Collin Thompson had 106, Owen Barger shot 113, Teagon Miller had 119 and Blaine Hughes shot 139.
The Indians’ Anderson Reiser was the medalist with a 74.
