Logan County seamstresses take top honors at Ohio State Fair

Thirteen projects represented Logan County at the 2024 Ohio State Fair and a number of participants received top awards in the state for their creativity and talent in their respective categories. 

Local 4-H members earned seven Outstanding of the Day awards and three Clock Trophies. 

Clock Trophy and Outstanding of the Day Awards went to: Carly Strayer in Dress Up Formalwear; Emily Adams in Ready Set Sew Active; and Gillian Knight in Clothes for High School.

Additional Outstanding of the Day Awards went to: Audra Harford in Clothes for Middle School; Elayna Hoover in Tops for Tweens; Lila Adams in Designed By Me; and Alayna Hoover in Yes You Can Quilt. 

 Other Logan County participants at the Ohio State Fair were Lulu Poeppelman in Sew Fun; Beatrice Warren in Sundresses and Jumpers; Samantha Altstaetter in Shopping Savvy Jr.; Valerie Knight in Loungewear; and Kate Adams in Outer layers and Looks Great for Less Sr.

In addition, Carly Strayer’s 2023 Wool Project that she won Ohio Make it With Wool last fall and competed in Denver, Colo., earlier this year on the national level. It is on display in the sheep barn in the Ohio Make it With Wool Display.
