Rachel Ross, 23, of Dayton, was arrested Sunday, July 28, following a drunken outburst at Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 County Road 293, Lakeview, that involved punching and swinging at staff members.
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched there around 6:40 p.m. on reports of an intoxicated female punching and kicking at employees. The incident began over Ross being told to stop leaning on a speaker, deputies were told.
Froggy’s staff told deputies Ross “flipped out” after being told to stop leaning on a speaker and put her hands on employees. Ross punched and kicked staff until she had to be taken to the ground to control her and contact law enforcement. Ross also swung at the bartender and was yelling at her and calling her a “racist cracker.”
Other staff members told deputies that Ross and another woman were removed from the pool area and then reportedly tried to order food, but were denied and then were asked to leave the bar. Staff tried to escort Ross from the property and at that point she became violent near the front door of the establishment, deputies were told.
Ross was placed in handcuffs and placed in a deputy’s cruiser. En route to the jail, she was able to slip her handcuffs off and throw them at the divider partition. The sheriff’s deputy had to pull over and re-cuff her. At that time Ross also yelled more threats and racially-charged comments at law enforcement.
Ross and another female were tresspassed from Froggy’s. Ross was charged with assault and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
