June Roberts, 97, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at her home.
She was born in Logan County, Ohio on June 13, 1927, to the late Earl A. and Nellie C. (Staley) Morris.
On February 1, 1947, she married Harry Augusta Roberts, and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2000.
June was also preceded in death by her son, William M. Roberts, and her siblings, Bernice A. Elliott, Crystal Wagner, Virginia B. Stanley, Rose E. Correll, Bernard E. Morris, Leo M. Morris, John L. Morris, Richard E. “Dickie” Morris, and Robert “Bobby” Morris.
She is survived by her children, Jack A. (Deb) Roberts of Bellefontaine, Joseph L. (Deb) Roberts of Rushsylvania, and Jill (Mike) Stolly of Bellefontaine; daughter-in-law, Michele Roberts of Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Zach (Jessica) Roberts, Amber Roberts, Tiffany Roberts, Junell Bible, Bethany (Justin) Ransbottom, Amy Keller, Billie Jo (Bo) O’Brien, Mollie (Bo) Johns, Noah (Amy) Stolly, Logan (Kristie) Stolly, and Seth (Jessica) Stolly; and 30 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
June was a member of the Rushsylvania Church of Christ, and the Rhoda Circle. In her early years, she loved square dancing. June loved to bake and was a wonderful cake maker for many weddings and other celebrations. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, and was especially good at Bingo. June was a caregiver for everyone. She was sharp minded her entire life and had no enemies. June fixed many meals for all the farm hands and had so much love for everyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses at Universal Home Health & Hospice and the private caregivers for the great care and comfort they gave June.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Pastor John Watkins will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Rushsylvania Church of Christ, 170 E. Mill Street, Rushsylvania. Burial will follow in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
