Gayle Reed, 77, of Huntsville, OH passed away Wednesday night, July 10, 2024, at Buckeye Forest at Belle Springs, Bellefontaine, OH.
Gayle was born on November 1, 1946, in Lima, OH, to Gaylord and Mary Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barney, a sister, Kayleen, and infant son, Heath.
In 1966, he married Bonnie Bennett, and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Casey (Tonya) Reed, and Gabe (Laura) Reed, and a daughter, Correy Oakley, nine grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Amber, Tyler, Isabel, Jacob, Emma, Jordan, and Adam, two great grandchildren, Hayven, and Laikyn, two sisters, Mary (Bud) Bailey, and Vera (Norman) Chambers, and a sister-in-law, Sharen Cooper.
Gayle was a member of the Indian Lake High School class of 1965. He was a member of The Cornerstone Church at Huntsville. Gayle was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He spent his life traveling millions of miles across the United States, Canada, Germany, and Vietnam as a truck driver. He rescued many dogs during his travels. His greatest happiness came from his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A family gathering will be conducted at a later date.
