• Rushsylvania — Saturday, June 29; parade begins at noon, organized by Rushsylvania Lions Club, Bruce and Louise Norris named grand marshals; activities at the park all day, free activities include kids games, face painting, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, along with bounce houses from noon to 7 p.m. ($10 per person all day); bow shooting at noon; old fashioned games at front ball field at 1 p.m.; three-on-three basketball tournament at 2 p.m.; free ice cream cones at village building at 2 p.m.; cornhole tournament at 4 p.m.; water ball from 4 to 6 p.m.; watermelon eating contest, 6 p.m., hot dog eating contest, 7 p.m.; fireworks at dusk.
• West Liberty — Saturday, June 29; summer street market and car show from noon to 7 p.m., rain or shine, street vendors, food trucks, live entertainment includes Tucker Munz Music and J.R. Hunter and Crossfire; car show for cars and motorcycles, trophies for first, second, third places, dash plaques for all pre-registered, e-mail [email protected]m to register; West Liberty Lions Club hosts breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Lions Park concession stand, with a choice of pancakes or biscuits and gravy; Lions Club also hosts a fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. in the main shelter house; softball games take place at day at Lions Park; fireworks at dusk.
• 19th Century Independence Day at Castle Mac-A-Cheek — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30, free outdoor event, take a picnic, buy a slice of Independence Day cake, learn how to play cricket and roll wooden hoops, enjoy historical tunes and storytelling about July 4th customs in the past, make “safe” firecrackers and watch them fly, lister to the Declaration of Independence, watch musket firing, and help make the cannon boom.
• Belle Center — Thursday, July 4; pancake breakfast, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Richland Township Memorial Building; parade line up, 11 a.m., parade begins at noon; 2 to 5 p.m., music by Paul Smock Country at shelter house; 3 to 4 p.m. kids and adult games and kids tractor pull; 3 to 10 p.m., bounce houses; 6 to 8 p.m. War Wrestling; 6 to 9 p.m. J.R. Hunter and The Crossfires; take lawn chairs, golf carts not permitted inside the parks, there will be a designated motorcycle parking area, 10 p.m. fireworks.
• West Mansfield — Thursday, July 4; West Mansfield Conservation Club; 5K Run/Walk, registration 7 a.m., race starts at 8:30 a.m.; pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m.; parade at noon, starting at Veterans Park and ending at the Conservation Club; silent auction from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the club house; kids fishing clinic at 1 p.m.; cake walk 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; adult softball games, face painting; J&R Cornhole tournaments; archery clinic; free bounce houses for the kids, 50/50 tickets; craft vendors, food vendors; music in the gazebo by DJ & Keith Mathys, fireworks at dusk.
• Light Up the Lake Spectacular — Saturday, July 6; fireworks show begins at 10 p.m., this year’s show is again produced by Pyrotechnico, best known for their shows at the Super Bowl and at Time Square; attendees asked to stand for the National Anthem, show closes with God Bless the USA ending at 10:30 a.m., tune to 98.3 or 93.5 for all the music and special effects, each song is professionally choreographed with different types of fireworks; sponsored by the Indian Lake Chamber, Indian Lake Visitors Bureau, and RV Wholesalers.
• Perry Township— Saturday, July 6, Perry Park, East Liberty, 11 a.m. parade line up at Church of Christ; parade begins at noon; 1 to 6 p.m. kids carnival, bounce house, bean bag toss, ring toss, hotdog eating contest, face painting, Plinko and more, $10 for all day bounce house and 50 cents a ticket for games; 4 p.m., cornhole tournament; 6 p.m. DJ Pine and cake walk; 50/50 all day, food trucks, masons and vendors; 10 p.m. fireworks.
