Paul W. Karn, age 86, of Huntsville, passed away at 6:24 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 12, 1937, to the late William and Pauline (Gorey) Karn.
On August 16, 1964, he married Joann (Milligan) Karn, and she survives.
Paul is also survived by his sons, Eric Karn of Cincinnati, Craig Karn of Columbus, and Jeff (Laurie) Karn of Melbourne, Florida; a grandson, Aidan Karn; sister, Karen (Harold) Wagner; brother, Dan Karn; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Bain.
Paul retired from Indian Lake Schools after being a teacher, athletic director, and ending as an assistant principal of the middle school. During his time, he coached high school and acme baseball. Paul was a big contributor to help start acme baseball. He coached 8th grade football and was an assistant coach with the high school football team. Outside of school, Paul loved to golf, fish, garden, and cook. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Paul was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine, where he served on various committees. He was a longtime board member of the New Life Charitable Foundation. Paul loved attending church. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Monday, June 3, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Pastor Larry Novak will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
