Donald R. Kessler, 72, of Lakeview, OH, passed away early Friday morning, February 9, 2024, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville, OH.
Donald was born on June 25, 1951, in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Richard Laemmle and Marlene Joyce Kessler Gressner. He is preceded in death by a half-brother, Jimmy Gressner.
Don married Marvalene Kay Pulfer on September 27, 1976, at the Jackson Center United Methodist Church and she survives. He is also survived by three children, Kimberly (Travis) Franks of Huntsville, OH, Patricia (Jim) Bucher of Virginia Beach, VA, and Donald W. Zwiebel of Lakeview, five grandchildren, Victoria Franks, Ashley Franks, Dustin Franks, Landon Bucher and Chase Bucher, a great granddaughter, Paisley Grace Teets, a sister, Rose Mary Flipper, and two half-brothers, Steve Gressner of Russells Point, OH and Brian Reed.
Don was a 1969 graduate of Indian Lake High School. He worked at HK Ponter and the Honda of America where he retired after 22 years. Don was a member of Sons of Amvets Post #39 and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, both in Lakeview. Don enjoyed having fun at the casino and Amvets, going to the Coon Dog Trials, hunting, and riding his Harley-Davidson.
A celebration of Don’s life will be Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Amvets Post #39 from 2 to 4 p.m. Inurnment will be in Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
