Suspect arrested for trafficking in drugs

Christina Cox, 39, of Bellefontaine, was arrested on outstanding out-of-county warrant and was charged additionally with drug trafficking after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department recovered suspected methamphetamine in a bag she was carrying while walking around 4:40 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, in the area of north Detroit Street and Pearce Avenue.

Officers on patrol in that area observed Cox walking southbound and discovered she had an arrest warrant out of Union County.

Contact was made with the defendant and she admitted to possession “ice,” a term for methamphetamine. A probable cause search was conducted and officers identified multiple prepackaged baggies of suspected methamphetamine, a Schedule III prescription pill and multiple Suboxone pills.

The methamphetamine was packaged for sale and distribution, officers report, not for personal use.

Cox was arrested on the Union County warrant and also charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
