Sally Jane Miller Stephan, 76, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at her residence Thursday, January 25, 2024, after a brief, but acute illness.

She was born in Bellefontaine February 21, 1947, a daughter of the late Wilson Michael Miller and Bessie Leland (Elliott) Miller. On January 15, 1970, she married Walter Clifford Stephan, and he survives in Bellefontaine. They were blessed with one precious daughter, Christine Gayle Stephan, who preceded Sally in death on July 18, 1997, from Cystic Fibrosis.

In addition, Sally is preceded in death by a sister, Lura Jean Roth, a sister, Alice Mae Ricketts, a brother, Wilbur David Miller, a niece, Lori Roth McGee, and a nephew, Jeffrey Duane Ricketts.

Sally is survived by her sisters, Martha Albert of West Liberty, Helen Brown of Port Charlotte, Florida, Maxine (Don) Smith of Lima, Ohio, Eloise Shirk of Bellefontaine, brother, Mike Miller of Troy, Ohio, sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller of Bellefontaine, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Sally was a loving wife and mother who will always be remembered for her kindness and devotion to her family. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Bellefontaine and a volunteer at the Logan County History Center.

At Sally’s request there will be no service. A private family graveside service will be at a later date at the East Liberty Cemetery in East Liberty, Ohio.
