A motorist and her passenger were transported Thursday afternoon, Jan. 25, for treatment of suspected minor injuries from a two-vehicle crash involving her car and a semi tractor-trailer during rainy conditions.

Lisa Shrider, 62, of Belle Center, and her passenger Dwight D. Shrider, 70, both of Belle Center, each were transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital.

Deputies report Abrha Dawit, 28, of Aurora, was operating an eastbound semi on U.S. Route 33 at State Route 235 in Stokes Township about 4:35 p.m. when he reportedly drove through a red light.

The semi then struck a southbound 2013 Ford Focus operated by Lisa.
Dawit did not report any injuries and was cited for traffic control devices. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belts, deputies said.

Damage was heavy to the car and moderate to the semi. Both vehicles were transported from the scene.
