David S. Sharp, 65, lifelong resident of East Liberty, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024.

A loving brother, uncle, great uncle and friend, Dave loved spending time with his family and friends, and being there to help and take care of all of them brought him great joy. He enjoyed mowing and was well known for tending to the lawns of many in East Liberty. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, going to auctions with Anthony, and in his younger years, going hunting. Dave was a member of the Moose Lodge #1651 in Marysville.

A 1977 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, he worked with Perry Township for 22 years. He took great pride in serving the community and his faithful dedication will be missed. He previously worked with International Car, Snipple Construction and Mathys Roofing.

Born September 5, 1958 in Bellefontaine, he was the son of the late Ernest, Sr. and Elsie (Martindale) Sharp. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 3 nieces and a nephew.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Barbara Sharp of Marysville, Connie Baughman, Bonnie (John) Brose, April McCreary, Ernie Sharp, Jr. and Kim Sharp, all of East Liberty, Susie (Bruce) McCoy of Bellefontaine, Paula (Morgan) Mathys of Raymond and Ronnie (Christina) Sharp of East Liberty; best friend, Dave “Thumper” Kaufman; 35 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews; along with many other extended family and friends.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 28, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Services to celebrate Dave’s life will immediately follow on Sunday at 5 p.m.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, casual dress is encouraged. Burial will be held at a later date in the East Liberty Cemetery.
