Frank Robert Hamm, 88, of Bellefontaine passed away on January 22, 2024 at his residence.

He was born April 25, 1935 in Springfield, OH to Paul and Florence (Pitt) Hamm. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth (Dennis) Latimer, Betty (Ron) Heath, a brother Marine Martindale “Pete” (Kay) Hamm, sisters-in-law Jeannie Groves, Janie Barnhart, brother-in-law David Groves, and step grandson Jeffery M. Clark.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife Delores Ann (Groves) Hamm, his loving children John M. (Lynn) Hamm, Linda (Dodd) Latimer, Vicki (Verrill) Gardiner, Joyce (Scott) Cox, and Jo Ann (Jeff) Clark. Grandchildren Zach (Lisa) Hamm, Lacie (Mike) Batovsky, Ashley (Eric) Melchor, Kyle (Coleen) Cox, Cody Cox, Camryn (Clayton) Sopher, Step Grandchildren Steve (Vanessa) Gardiner, Stephanie (Ben) Houk, Kevin Clark. Great Grandchildren Zachary and Evelyn Hamm, Madison, Macie, and Laynie Batovsky, Hayden Reed, Sophie and Zoey Melchor, step great grandchild Charlotte Houk and Perry Gardiner. Also, sister Karen “Susie” (Richard) Duncan, Mary Jane (Robert) Smith, brother Paul “Peanut” Hamm, in-laws, Jim Barnhart, Walter and Bill (Lavelle) Groves, Maggie (Gary) Cron and many nieces and nephews.

Frank had an amazing appliance repair business called “Frank’s Service Center.” He did the repairs while his wife, Delores, took the calls and sold the parts. They did service for Logan County for 50 years and retired in 2017.

A graduate of Zanesfield Monroe High School, he kept up with friends from their graduating class of 1953. At age 23, he served in the U.S. Army with the Third Infantry Division in combat efficiency training tests in Germany. He was a ground photographer in Headquarters Troop of the division’s Seventh Calvary in Bamburg, Germany. He entered the Army in 1957.

Frank and Delores were married on November 26, 1960. Their time was spent raising their family, bowling, coon hunting, mushroom hunting, gardening, playing cards, taking vacations, cheering on his favorite baseball team, The Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He served the community through the Amvets Post 105 in Bellefontaine with many positions such as Commander, Special Olympics Organizer, and marched with the Color Guard to name a few.

Frank was a believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He attended church with his mother in his younger years at the Pickrelltown Methodist Church. He reaffirmed his faith and made a commitment to our Lord on June 13, 2023. We believe that he is in Heaven, in the loving arms or our precious Lord.

Frank will be remembered for his patriotism, volunteer work, service in the community, and all the people he so willingly helped. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.

Visitation will be on Friday January 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday January 27, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.. Pastor Nate Wilcoxon of the West Liberty First Church of God will officiate the funeral service at 1pm. Both visitations and the funeral will be held at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 US Hwy 68 S., West Liberty, OH 43357. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following military honors.
