Lakers earn spots at State BPA Contest

The Indian Lake High School Business Professionals of America students brought home dozens of awards from the recent Business Professionals of America Regional Contest at Ohio Northern University.

ILHS students completed the tests in December and learned their results during the event.

A total of 24 Lakers placed in the top 10, and eight are heading to the State BPA Contest in Columbus on March 7-8. (Many cannot advance due to conflicts with other activities).
Mara Bihn, Alex Kinney, Adrian Crumley, Taylor Clem, Abigail Elliott, Taylor Karbowiak, Hannah Metzger and Kenzie Dixon will all represent Indian Lake at the state contest.

Results from the regional competition include:
• Fundamental Accounting: 1st – Mara Bihn, 2nd – Alex Kinney, 3rd – Adrian Crumley, 4th – Logan Murphy, 5th – Blake Jackson, 6th – Savannah Hill, 7th – Haylee Edwards, 8th – Hannah Hoffman, 9th – Ciara Lynch and 10th – Gillian Taylor.
• Fundamental Word Processing: 2nd – Taylor Clem, 5th – Camdon Tuttle, and
7th – Mackenzie Dixon.
• Intermediate Word Processing: 7th – Abigail Elliott*, 8th – Chase McMillen, 9th – Addison Stinemetz and 10th – Porscha Davis.
• Business Law & Ethics: 1st – Taylor Karbowiak, 2nd – Hannah Metzger, 7th – Gillian Taylor and 9th – Haylee Edwards.
• Marketing, Management, & Human Resources: (Open event – can place but not advance): 1st – Czar Dickson, 2nd – Hannah Metzger, 3rd – Kaitlyn Shaner, 6th – Kayla Schwaderer, 9th – Olivia Hurley and 10th – Riley Ross.
