Date:

Betty C. Saltz, 97, lifelong resident of West Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Belle Springs Nursing Home in Bellefontaine.

Born December 25, 1926 at her home in West Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Louie (Predmore) Saltz. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving companion of more than 20 years, Goering Harris Lane on February 5, 1999; and close friends, Tom Draime and Larry Kerns, both of West Mansfield.

Having lived her entire life in her family home where she was born and raised, Betty took great pride in caring for her home in West Mansfield, she enjoyed going out to dinner and traveling, especially with Goering. Larry and Posey Kerns drove them on several trips to Michigan, North Carolina, Renfro Valley and Holmes County. She truly enjoyed these trips and appreciated Larry and Posey’s kindness. She was also very thankful for the generosity and kindness of Homer and Mary Deerwester over the years. Their weekly visits to bring KFC were always a favorite.

She is survived by her dear friends, Betty Draime and Posey Kerns, both of West Mansfield; Homer and Mary Deerwester, of Bellefontaine; and Tom “TJ” Draime of New Paris; along with many other friends and neighbors.

Her friends would like to give a special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff at Belle Springs for all of their kindness, care and help given to Betty the last 14 years.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 26, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Pastor John Rozewicz will officiate and burial will be held later at the Bellefontaine Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service on Friday beginning at noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the activities fund at Belle Springs, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com.
