Indian Lake High School sophomore Carly Strayer will travel this week to Colorado for the National Make it with Wool Competition.

She competed in November in the Ohio Make it with Wool competition and won the junior category for the state.

She will take part in the three-day national competition as the Ohio representative for the national title Jan. 11-13. She will be judged on sewing techniques, fit and style among others throughout the nation.

Carly says she is honored to represent Ohio in this extremely competitive field.
“I am excited to get the opportunity to meet and compete against kids from across the country and learn about the wool industry.

“I like working with wool because it is a very easy material to work with and it sews easily. I am also excited to travel to Colorado and explore the state for a few days.”

This outfit won in the “Clothes for High School” category at the Logan County Fair in July and won the State Fair first place clock trophy in August.

Carly was also the state wool winner at the Ohio State Fair this summer and her outfit will be displayed in the Make it With Wool booth in the Sheep Barn at the 2024 Ohio State Fair this coming July and August.
