Clayton Earnest Michael Neer, 43, of West Liberty passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his residence. 

Clayton was born November 21, 1980, to Ivan “Big Bird” Michael and Lea-Annette R. (Samson) Neer.

Clayton enjoyed 4-Wheelers, mud running and snow mobiles. He also enjoyed the work he had done over many years at Dr. Lee’s Stove Shop in Logansville. He loved spending time with his son Charles and his beloved dogs Chevy and Blacky. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his loving mother, Lea-Annette R. (Kevin Roush) Neer; son, Charles I. Neer; sister Dilys “Sissy” Janes; grandma, Evelyn L. Samson; uncles, Russell (Doris Keith) Samson and Mark (Shanna) Neer; aunt, Zoe (Wade) Stegal; cousins, Randy (Tiffany) Neer, Dustin (Danielle Hodge) Samson, Sundae “Seth” Stegal, Stormy Stegal, Samantha Neer, Sasha Neer, Tyson Neer and Marvin Neer; aunt, Dilys Coil, Tonya Neer; nieces and nephews, Brenden, Doyle, Katie, Ahyleace, Cheyenne, Carter, Isaiah and Isaac; girlfriend, Kasi Johnson and her children, Zoey, Sammy and Ryder; many other loving family members and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Ivan “Big Bird” Michael Neer; grandfather, Earnest “Ernie” Samson; grandma and grandpa, Barbara (L. Marvin) Neer; uncles, Gary Neer and Norman Neer; cousin, Ashely Neer.

A Celebration of Life will take place Wednesday, January 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial of ashes will take place in Macochee Cemetery at a later date.
