Daisy Lavon Green, 82, of West Mansfield, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at her residence.
A 1958 graduate of Allensville High School in McArthur, she retired from Siemens where she worked as a breaker assembler for 15 years and formerly worked at Westinghouse for 20 years. Daisy was a member of the West Mansfield Church of Christ, served as secretary of the West Mansfield Conservation Club for many years and currently serves as a trustee, volunteered with Bokescreek EMS and served as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and family.
Born July 19, 1941 in Rushsylvania, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ina L. (Payne) Crevison. On November 25, 1966 in Nashville, TN, she married her husband of nearly 47 years, Warren D. “Soap” Green, and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2013. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas, Franklin, Charles, Donald Lee and John Dean; sisters, Lois Reynolds and Judy Thompson; sisters-in-law, Virginia Crevison and Jeanie Crevison; and brothers-in-law, Robert Reynolds, John Wayne Morrison and Edwin Green; and a son-in-law, Gene Harris.
She is survived by her children, Gregory (Melanie) Green of McArthur, Elizabeth Harris of West Mansfield and William (Barbara) Green of Tocoma, GA; grandchildren, Brandie (Jacob) Hobart, Scarlett (Brenden) Niezgoda, Matthew (Emily) Green, Anisa (Michael) Wyngaert and Samantha (John) Glaister; great grandchildren, Maverick and Willow Glaister, Finley Niezgoda and Hailey and Ella Green; sisters-in-law, Anita Green of Bellefontaine, Frances Sutherly of Huntsville and Janet Crevison of West Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, January 6, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Burial will follow next to her husband at Highland Memorial Park in West Liberty.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
