Bettylu Hines Lynn departed this life on Monday, December 25, 2023, at age 98 at her home in Montgomery County, Maryland. She was the wife of the late Dr. Kenneth Clyde Lynn, whom she married in May 1947.
Mrs. Lynn was born in Champaign County, Ohio and raised by her parents, Sarah and Raymond Hines (both deceased) in Logan County, Ohio. She attended the Ohio Wesleyan University where she majored in music and was a member of the A Cappella Choir. She was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon (music) and Chi Omega. Much of her early life was spent in music performance, both vocal and piano.
She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Christopher Kenneth (Elloise) of Holland, Ohio, and Dr. Nicholas Jay (Lisa) of Pinehurst, North Carolina. She was predeceased by her brother, David Dean Hines (Anne).
She has been a member of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church since moving to Maryland in 1957, and was ordained an elder in 1978.
Interment will be at the family plot at the Kings Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Urbana, Ohio, at a future date. Local arrangements are with Pumphreys Funeral Home in Rockville, MD.
