Donald R. Nenninger, 89, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Monarch Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Marysville.

Don was born on August 2, 1934, in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Samuel Roy and Ruth Almedia (Farner) Nenninger. He married Linda Lee Nelson on August 3, 1963, and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2018. Don was also preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Jane Nenninger, Patsy Arlene Mentzer, and Louise Hutchinson.

Don is survived by three daughters: Karla (Pat) Sorbas, Lisa (Mark) Landis, and Holly (Scot) Brown; son Trevor (T.J.) Nenninger; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister Ruth Ann Koser; a brother Ned Nenninger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Vietnam veteran, Don served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, before retiring as a Technical Sergeant. He then worked at the Zanesfield Rod & Gun Club for 32 years and retired as Assistant Manager.

Don had a strong love and passion for his family. He was a master carpenter, master storyteller, and jokester. He loved being around people, whether it was at the Rod & Gun Club or his favorite place to eat, Waffle House … he loved socializing with his friends. Don was a member of the Harold Kerr American Legion Post #173 and was recognized as a 50-year member.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate Don’s memorial service on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 4pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Following the memorial service, military rites will be performed by members of the Logan County Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harold Kerr American Legion Post #173, 120 Colton Ave. Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
