Nolan J. Purk, 17, of Lakeview, OH, passed away at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, OH on December 2, 2023, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Nolan was born on August 18, 2006, in Sidney, OH, a son of the late Jason A. Purk, and Billi Y. Purk, who resides with his stepfather, Joe Shadrach, in Lakeview. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Andy Sparks, and maternal grandfathers, Papa Lenny, and Richard Johnson.

Nolan is survived by his mother, stepfather, two sisters, Reagan Purk, and Skylar Purk, brother, Samual Purk, maternal grandmother, Robin (James Schaeffer) Sparks of Dayton, maternal grandfather, William Coehick of St. Marys, OH, paternal grandparents, Katherine (Jerry) Brock of Houston, OH, maternal great grandmother, Wanda Johnson, step-grandparents, Bob (Stacey) Shadrach of Elgin, OH and Tammy (Bucky) Inabient of Charleston SC, aunts and uncles, Gabrielle Sparks of Dayton, Jessica (Tim) Mangen of Houston, Dustin Sparks of Louisville, KY, Mindy Schaeffer of Dayton, Taylor Hamilton of Charleston, SC, Josh (Mindy) Shadrach of St. Marys, and several great aunts and great uncles.

Nolan was a Junior at Indian Lake High School and worked at Cranberry Resort. He enjoyed playing baseball when he was younger, playing football, wrestling and was a devoted weightlifter. He also enjoyed playing video games and collecting comic books. He had a diverse taste in music and enjoyed a good dare. Nolan was a self-proclaimed “momma’s boy”. He loved his family, his dogs, and hanging out with his friends.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 2-6 pm, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview.
