Landon Dickinson, 27, of Bellefontaine, was charged with attempted felonious assault and lodged in the Logan County Jail, as the Examiner first reported. Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report Dickinson fired a weapon eastbound into the air as witnesses and victims of a physical altercation that reportedly took place moments prior fled back inside.
Dickinson reportedly showed up at a house in the 700 block of west Williams Avenue and got into an argument with some of the people there.
Witnesses told police Dickinson then went outside and pulled a firearm from his vehicle. He reportedly aimed it at the backs of individuals running inside before pointing it into the air and firing off a round, witnesses said. Dickinson and another named male then fled the scene in a black SUV, law enforcement was told.
The defendant was later found at his residence on north Detroit Street. He was arrested and lodged in jail. Dickinson’s clothes also were secured as evidence in an attempt to retrieve gunshot residue.
