Doris M. (Brentlinger) Henry, 95, of Rushsylvania, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born in Hardin County, Ohio on October 29, 1928, to the late Ivan L. and Alice Marie (Hesser) Brentlinger.
On May 20, 1947, she married William K. Henry, and he preceded her in death.
Along with her parents and husband, Doris was also preceded in death by her sons, Richard D. Henry, and Larry W. Henry; son-in-law Mike T. Meeker; son-in-law Robert A. Null; brothers, Richard L. Brentlinger and Russell S. Brentlinger; and sisters, Joyce Nickerson, and Judy Phillips.
Doris is survived by her children, Shirley J. Meeker, Helen M. (Jack) Culp, Russell A. (Carol) Henry, Alice V. (Richard) Darling, W. Earl Henry, Brian E. (Sally) Henry, Paul T. Henry, Mary L. (Llewellyn) Tuttle, Anna Mae Henry, and Kathy B. Null; brothers, Max L. (Dorothy) Brentlinger and Ronald L. (Sharon) Brentlinger; sisters, Gloria (Paul) Cornell, Linda Kitchen, and Donna Heindel; brother-in-law, Keith Henry; sister-in-law, Betty Fultz; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was a homemaker, raising her 12 children. She loved sharing her wisdom and the large family gatherings. Doris enjoyed gardening, reading, mushroom hunting, fishing, and cooking. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be on Monday, November 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, November 20, following visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty at a later date.
