Traffic stop nets drug, theft charges

Cindy Jones, 53, of Lakeview, was charged with possession of drugs and theft during a traffic stop Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were on patrol about 6:20 p.m. on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 239 conducted a traffic stop on Jones’ vehicle for no headlights.

Upon making contact with Jones, officers said she was overly nervous. She consented to a search of her vehicle. During the search, officers located several stolen items in her purse that the defendant admitted to just stealing from the dollar store. Officers also located suboxone that she did not have a prescription for.

Cindy was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail. She was charged with headlights required and driving under suspension.

• Christopher Bickel Jr., 53, of Lancaster, was charged with possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Officers on patrol on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 239 conducted a traffic stop on Bickel for an equipment violation.

Upon making contact with Bickel, he consented to a search of his vehicle. During the search, officers located marijuana, along with blue pills that were found to be a scheduled drug. Bickel did not have a prescription for the pills.

He was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
