Nick Barthel, 35, of Huntsville, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, and charged with domestic violence after surveillance footage saw him behave violently towards his significant other in the parking lot of her place of employment.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to Robinson Investments main office at 1 Hunter Place on a report that the victim, who is an employee of the business, was grabbed and pulled to the ground by her boyfriend in the parking lot.

A review of surveillance footage from the parking lot showed Barthel grab the victim by the arm and pull her to the ground. Associates at the business also described seeing their co-worker as flustered and unsure following the altercation, which reportedly began over a misplaced wallet.

Officers made contact with the defendant by telephone and he agreed to an interview at the police station. He denied causing any physical harm, but was charged based on the camera footage and witness statements. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
