Drug investigation yields two arrests

A collaborative law enforcement yielded the arrest of two suspects wanted on drug-related charges around 7:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, following a search of a residence on north Detroit Street.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department along with investigators from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant on a residence at 223 N. Detroit St resulting in suspected drug-related activity at that location.

Cynyen Howard, 38, of Dayton, and Skybree Schindler, 38, of Bellefontaine, each were arrested on drug-related charges after law enforcement identified crack cocaine, marijuana, assorted prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and materials utilized for packing and transporting narcotics.

Howard was arrested on a parole violation and for possession of cocaine. Schindler was charged with trafficking in drugs.

Both suspects were lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Additional charges are pending.

Suspect arrested on drug-related warrants

Jesse Houchins, 42, of Bellefontaine, was lodged in the Logan County Jail on outstanding warrants, and was also charged with additional drug-related crimes around 5:40 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21.

Officers observed Houchins walking along eastbound Williams Avenue and were aware of two outstanding arrest warrants for two counts of trafficking in cocaine.
Contact was made with Houchins, who admitted to having recently smoked crack cocaine. A search of his person revealed a suspected crack pipe.

He was lodged in the jail on the two warrants and also an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
