Richard Dee Waugh, 76, of Huntsville, OH, passed away Monday night, October 2, 2023, at Belle Springs Care Center, Bellefontaine, OH.

Richard was born on March 31, 1947, in Springfield, OH, a son of the late Willis and Ethel Reeder Waugh.

Richard married Linda Brannum on July 14, 1972, in Xenia, OH and she survives along with their two sons, Mark (Marie) Waugh of Germantown, TN, and Kelly Brent Waugh of Las Vegas, NV, two granddaughters, Molly and Megan Waugh, four siblings, Alan (Carole) Waugh of Alberta, Calgary, CA, David (Taffy) Waugh of Springfield, Louis (Pamela) Waugh of Loveland, OH, and Mary Lea (Gerry) Blaettner of Palm Harbor, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Southwestern High School in South Charleston, OH, and earned his dual bachelor’s degree in economics and education from Wittenberg University. He worked at Navistar while in college and was an elementary school teacher at Dayton, Xenia and Enon. Richard was a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533. He was a wildlife enthusiast who enjoyed studying astronomy, following the Reds Baseball Team and being on Indian Lake. Richard loved teaching children, and spending time with family and friends.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be conducted at a later date.
