Search warrant results in suspect’s arrest for trafficking in meth

The Logan County Unified Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 11295 Blackhawk Path, Lakeview, Wednesday evening, Oct. 4, that resulted in an arrest and the seizure of drugs, cash and a firearm.

David Mathews, 62, was arrested on a warrant for aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine.

A large amount of methamphetamine, more than 800 suboxone pills, marijuana, $2,470 dollars in cash and a handgun were recovered from inside the residence.

The Task Force conducted a lengthy investigation into Mathews after he was identified by the Task Force as a large source for the distribution of methamphetamine into the Indian Lake region. Numerous additional charges are being forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
