Bruce E. Wilson, 75, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023, at his home.
Bruce was born in Bellefontaine on August 16, 1948, to the late William and Leola (Rockhold) Wilson. He married Mary Alice Carter on August 10, 1985, and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2021. Bruce was also preceded in death by a daughter Alicia Carter, and sisters Judy Voorhees and Vicki Wilson.
Bruce is survived by his sons, Curtis Wilson and Bruce Lamar Wilson; 8 grandchildren: Foxi Carter, Quinesha Carter, Tiara Lyburtus, Hilbert Hassell Jr, Racquel Hooser, Tara Hooser, Daja Wilson, and CJ Wilson; 19 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Evehonna, Tyrese, Tywanna, Aleesha, Eternity, Serenity, Logyn, Tiona, Tamiah, Kashius, Jerrel Jr., Murilo, Maleiah, Novah, Nolyn, Zarrah, Zayla, and John; 2 brothers: Ron Wilson and Sid Wilson; a sister Pat Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A veteran of the US Army, Bruce worked for the City of Bellefontaine as an Engineer for 35 years. Following his retirement from the city, he went to work for Acrux/Genric Security for 20 years. Bruce loved to watch the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns, but his greatest joy was hanging out with his grandkids.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Greater Christ Temple, 616 W. Chillicothe Ave. Bellefontaine, from noon to 4pm, where military rites will be provided by members of the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard at 1pm.
