Hodges, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and is currently undergoing treatment at the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center, said she wanted to attend to meet others walking this difficult journey. “I found out recently that my neighbor also had breast cancer years ago. Local breast cancer survivors were honored Thursday evening during the Paint LoCo Pink festivities in downtown Bellefontaine, where pink lights were turned on to illuminate the Logan County Courthouse fountain for the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Recognizing those we’ve lost and in support of those who’ve survived breast cancer, this year’s event in West Liberty included a health fair at the town hall, a mobile mammogram clinic, and a free hot dog meal for members of the community.
