Ada M. (Bell) Griffin, 97, of Belle Center, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Hardin County, Ohio on July 18, 1926, a daughter of the late Robert W. Bell and Lucy V. (Wallace) Bell.

On December 22, 1946, Ada married James Carl Griffin in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2005.

Ada is survived by her three children, Ronald Griffin, Janet Britton, and Cindy (Bill) Stratton; three granddaughters, Melinda (Terry Grubbs) Frazier, Heather (Trevor) Melton, and Stephanie (Lester) Snyder; seven great grandchildren, Brianna Frazier, Kylie Frazier, Logan Grubbs, Wesley Grubbs, Samantha Houdashelt, Kayla (Taylor) Wood, and Lauren Snyder; and two great great grandsons, Beau, and Aiden. In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her son, Robert Griffin; and stepfather, Alfred Umphress.

A homemaker, Ada was a 1944 graduate of Belle Center High School, where she played basketball and softball. She was a member of the Belle Center Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary.

A graveside service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, at Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Ada’s memory, to the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 1851 State Route 47 W., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
